About Us

The Medical Foundation for the Study of the Environment is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to studying and educating the public about the environment and how it relates to their health. Since 1989 it has assisted research and researchers throughout the United States. With the purchase of the research vessel Searcher in 1997, MFSE began to expand its marine research and education program. Since then it has worked with researchers, educators, and conservationists from the University of Hawaii, the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, the Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, The University of the Virgin Islands, UCLA, NOAA, The Nature Conservancy, The National Geographic Society, The British Broadcasting Corporation, and the Ocean Futures Society.
