IN 2003, THE SEARCHER TOOK 21 DIVERS, FILMMAKERS, AND SCIENTISTS ON A SIX WEEK VOYAGE UP THE HAWAIIAN CHAIN TO REMOTE KURE ATOLL. THIS VOYAGE WAS DOCUMENTED BY JEAN MICHEL COUSTEAU AND HIS TEAM IN A FILM THAT INSPIRED THEN PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH TO CREATE WHAT WAS AT THE TIME THE WORLD'S LARGEST MARINE SANCTUARY.
