Rooted in legacy and guided by the foundations of our past, SearcherHawai‘i carries forward a tradition of service and discovery.

 

Originally established in 1989, the Medical Foundation has operated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to safe guarding our future through marine research and advancing science throughout the world.

For more than 20 years, the research vessel Searcher has worked throughout the Pacific, including the Hawaiian Islands, Papahānaumokuākea, Palmyra and Kingman Reef, the Line Islands, the Society Islands, the Tuamotus, and Johnston Atoll.

 

Building on this history, and guided by MFSE’s mission, Searcher Hawai‘i and Ocean Conscious 501(c)(3) strive to expand opportunities for Hawai‘i’s education and research communities, while strengthening connections across the globe. By fostering experiences rooted in both social and environmental awareness, we seek to inspire stewardship and collective responsibility for our shared ocean.
